The BigIron bids farewell

Hey folks, the time has come to hang up my hat. Lil’Iron and I have spent the better part of two years putting this site together. It will still exist but in a different form.

I always wanted to share my favorite recipes and make it possible for anybody to get a professional result using their backyard smoker.

The fear of being redundant has come.

I can only show so many ways to do chickens, ribs and pork shoulders. The videos on this site give you all the basics and a few tips. I do hope you will use them if you need to and pass them on to friends and family.

I have had a great time and met many good people. I will still answer all my emails and maybe from time to time put up something new I found.

This will still be a great site even though you will not be adding to it on a regular basis. This has become more to me than just a website, I made a very good friend. I understand what all you have put into this site and I am sure I speak for all the regulars that frequent here, no other site on the web ever came close to helping as much as this one has. I will miss posting but I understand it’s better to leave it while it’s still on top. I agree if you started repeating videos or recipes it would take away all the hard work you have put into it. You done one hell of a job……

You know I will still email you from time to time even if its just to say hi and see how you guys are doing.

Hey Big Iron,

I just want to say that Even though you won’t be posting regularly, I still think your website is a great place for folks to come and hang out to see new tricks they can try on the grill.

I’ll still drop you an e-mail every now and then (and maybe a recipe or to to try). I do hope that even though we’ve never met, I think you and your missus would make great neighbors.

Will keep you in our thoughts. Thanks for all your help.

I just wanted to say thanks for a great website. I’m little sad to see you take a step back, but I understand your reasons. I gotta say I have enjoyed your videos, recipes, humor and hard work you have put into this site. It has been nice to see just a regular guy like me having the same interest in barbeque. It is amazing that something simple like barbeque brings so many people together…only wish the rest of life was like that!
