Chargriller covers are now made of a durable PVC and have a warranty of 1 yr. They are a thicker material now.

Just got my Char Griller 5050 and side smoker on Saturday here in MS. I've been using the Wal Mart tarp option thinking I would order the cover from Char Griller. LOL Looks like I'll rethink that. Thanks for the video and tips. I'll keep checking your site for more info and "how-to's"

Peace thru BBQ!

Just bought my first Char-Griller this week - haven't had time to do much but look at it lovingly through the patio doors - I'm a workaholic! LOL. I was going to purchase the cover through them and saw it was "vinyl" and backed off of that quickly. Vinyl may work up north, but down here in this hot damn Texas heat of summer I could just imagine the ickiness I would have to endure. I was going to look to see what Wal-Mart had before I decided. I did a quick Google and came across this site. Thank you for the tips! I have one of the covers you used from Wal-Mart, a bit smaller, like trying to fit into your favorite jeans, but I have had this one about 3 seasons and it has a few rips here and there, ratty looking, but it does the job - and I'm excited to know I can get a 63 inch that will do the job. I'll have to mark this page and check back after I finally get her seasoned and ready for use. May be some advice in here I can use - this will be my first foray into the world of smoking!

Enjoyed your presentation on how to fix your smoker when the cover melts. We barbeque and smoke beef, pork ,chicken, lamb and fish throughout the year. Thanks for the tips.
