My sentiments exactly. There is nothing like pouring your heart into a pork butt or brisket for 10 hrs plus or making the perfect ribs. It is only matched by the experssions of your guests as they tear into it like starving savages only looking up to tell you how they've never had anything like it before.

I'm like you, I enjoy the cooking more than the eating, but I think we all do. I'm way too critical of my que because I'm always competing with my last attempt. I'm a yankee raised by parents born and raised around Corning, AR, and I remember always stopping at Coleman's since my parents couldn't get anything that even resembled bbq in Illinois.

Oh yeah, have faith in the younger generation. I was born in 71, and aspire to be like my parents in many ways, not the leaset of which is enjoying bbq.

I realize these are older posts, but to me they are all new. After reading this posts I realize what kind of a person you really are. This post did not come from your mind, it came from your heart. I grew up in the 60's too, it was a much simplier life, and the simplier things meant the most. I reallly dont know how I found this site, but I am glad I did. I am not a grill master, but I have done it for years, things dont always come out right, but even if they dont, I did my best and I take pride in it. I see the same in you. Rare these days.........
